Provide quality customer service in a fun and supportive environment with Lake Macquarie City Council Swim Centers!


LMCC are seeking customer-focused individuals who enjoy operating in an aquatic environment to provide high quality customer service and administrative support within our Swim Centre reception areas while acting as a second Lifeguard. Our Swim Centre Receptionists are the first point of contact within our Swim Centres, provide valuable support to our Swim Centre functions and are responsible for a diverse range of activities including (but not limited to) greeting Swim Centre patrons and resolving customer enquiries, organising bookings and processing payments, stock control, café assistance and the safe handling of food. The role also provides support to Swim Centre including Pool Lifeguards staff in emergency situations. 

Various temporary contract positions are available. Shifts are based on a 7 day roster and span of hours from 4:30am to 9:00pm with shifts rostered across the network of Swim Centres - located at Swansea, West Wallsend, Charlestown and Speers Point.

As part of the interview and selection process, candidates will be required to undertake a practical skill and fitness assessment which will assess swimming ability and is based on the minimum standards outlined in the RLSS Bronze Medallion (link to Bronze Medallion Requirements).

We are seeking flexible and committed individuals with a genuine interest in providing high-quality customer service and contributing to an enjoyable and safe environment across our Swim Centers. If you meet the criteria listed below, we would love to hear from you.

Significant experience working in a customer-facing role within a team, preferably as a Receptionist and/or in a Swim Centre facility.
Commitment to providing ongoing high-quality customer service with strong, professional communication and interpersonal skills and an approachable and flexible attitude to liaise with a diverse audience.
Experience in processing payments and effectively directing customer enquiries.
Intermediate computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Currently have or willingness to obtain:
RLSS Bronze Medallion
Senior First Aid Certificate
Accredited Safe Food Handling Course
Working with Children Check
Current RLSS Pool Lifeguard Certificate (including Spinal), or equivalent is desirable.


Competitive salary from $29.38 to $34.14 per hour
