Politis Central Services Group is an administration company servicing all companies within the Politis Group. Our core business is in civil construction in Western Australia, specialising in asphalt production, placement and project management. PCSG operates from a centrally located office in Osborne Park, with our group operating a modern asphalt production batch plant in Wangara. We provide a professional service to government, commercial and residential clients across the state.

About the role

Politis Group are seeking a passionate and experienced risk and compliance practitioner to join our Compliance team. The position will report to the Chief Executive Officer, and be directly responsible for ensuring that our company secures its reputation and profitability by controlling risk, performing regular audits, implementing company policies, and designing control systems whilst maintaining all regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities


Providing direct assistance to the CEO in identifying potential threats and creating plans to prevent and mitigate problems.
Advising CEO on various types of risks (business, financial, legal and security) and ensure company policies and procedures comply with regulatory and ethical standards.
Preparing reports and communicating recommendations to the CEO
Assisting in Human Resources strategy and compliance

Assist the CEO with the following; 


Managing and supporting direct reports, including the Health and Safety Advisor, Quality Assurance Officer and Human Resources Coordinator.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and ISO requirements
Developing and maintaining risk management controls and contingency plans
Ensuring company policies and procedures comply with regulatory and ethical standards
Maintaining all licensing and reporting obligations of the company
Maintaining Quality Assurance/Audit processes and procedures
Evaluating existing policies, processes and procedures to find, and assist to remedy, weaknesses
Evaluating employees’ risk awareness and delivering training when necessary
Managing and maintaining Quality, Safety and Environmental ISO Accreditations
Managing and maintaining MRWA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation
Managing and maintaining Department of Environment licencing and reporting obligations
Investigating and managing the Non-Conformance process
Preparing and conducting internal quality audits

Skills and Experience


Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in Risk and Compliance officer role
Experience managing a small team and/or office management skills
Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation
Experience with quality assurance, auditing and reporting procedures
Familiarity with industry compliance standards and regulations (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Act)
Strong computer and research skills (knowledge of analysis software is preferred)
Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
Displays initiative and can work well alone or in a team with minimal instruction
Excellent written (report writing) and verbal communication and presentation skills
Thorough understanding of the organisation's goals and values
Ability to handle private, sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Solid research skills using the internet and first-person interviews
Experience working with insurance policies and contract management
