Maintenance Officer

Masonic Care WA is a growing aged care provider in the community. We are committed to creating a fulfilling work environment as part of providing quality care and services for our residents. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Officer to join us at our Howard Solomon site on a Full-Time basis and be a part of our growing organisation. Based initially in Ferndale, you will join a team that is responsible for overseeing a variety of maintenance tasks and checks across the facility. The role will bring you into contact with our residents which will provide you the opportunity to deliver positive outcomes. You will be responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance program as set out by our organisation. You will be required to complete day to day maintenance tasks to keep the work environment safe for residents and employees.

Qualifications & experience

Trade qualification and painting experience preferable
Ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent interpersonal skills and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing
Customer service focused and committed to achieving optimal outcomes for our residents, families and organisation
Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
Is a team player and is also able to work autonomously
Working knowledge and understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act and Quality of Care Principles
Demonstrated experience with required systems and programs
Maintain strict confidentiality of residents, employees and visitors

Tasks & responsibilities

General maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks including minor painting
Ensure at all times that risks are appropriately managed and in line with policies and procedures
Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes
Maintain all documentation as requires by Masonic Care WA policies and procedures
Support the Facility Manager in multiple duties including regulatory compliance requirements and more
Report all incidents immediately and follow corrective action directives
Collaborate with the Facility Manager and other Masonic Care WA Maintenance Officer's to ensure processes are reviewed and improved where appropriate
