Regis Lifestyle Program – PIEC&S

PIEC&S is what you will hear talked about as Regis’ Lifestyle Program. PIEC&S is an acronym for Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Cultural and Social. This means optimising residents: Personal preferences, Independence and Engagement, being Consultative, and promoting Self esteem.

We believe it is vitally important to stay engaged with life, to stay involved with current interests and develop new ones. Our National Lifestyle Team develops ideas from around the country and makes them available to all our residents. There are 100s of unique program offerings, National Programs and at least one major celebration each month. Regis provides targeted services, and specialised staff and environments to support residents living with dementia. Some of our programs include PARO Therapy, Activity Stations, Table Top Activities, Music Memories, Resi @ Home and our Sundowners Program.

Workplace Location 

Regis Como offers 34 single rooms with en suites, 17 twin shared rooms with en suites and home-style furnishings and finishes. Situated a pleasant stroll from the Collier Park Golf Course to the east, the Swan River to the west, and Perth CBD ten minutes drive to the north, Regis Como aged care facility residents can appreciate the essence of the city in quiet surrounds. Featuring a lush garden courtyard with meandering sheltered walkways, and indoor activity rooms for intimate gatherings, Como has a lively activity program to suit all residents.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to bring energy and passion to the role of Lifestyle Coordinator. In this rewarding role you will be responsible for designing and implementing a high quality calendar of meaningful activities and events. This is a full time leadership position that will support and coordinate staff, volunteers, and community engagement. Regis’ Lifestyle program focuses on individual needs, preferences, and goal setting in order to support and empower our residents to maximise their independence and well being.

Duties & Responsibilities

Facilitate community engagement opportunities
Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families and volunteers
Support the orientation and training of new team members and volunteers
Manage and coach the lifestyle team to deliver engaging and meaningful lifestyle activities
Ensure complete and timely documentation of resident participation and engagement
Prepare comprehensive and accurate Lifestyle Assessments of residents
Active participation in the delivery of activities
Develop lifestyle programs based on individual needs, preferences and goals with the aim to enhance Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Cultural, and Social well being

Skills & Experience

Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding computer literacy skills
Experience using a computerised Care Management System (desirable)
Previous experience in Dementia care
Previous experience in a Lifestyle Assistant / Coordinator position (or similar)
Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
Demonstrated understanding of Leisure and Lifestyle programming and Aged Care Quality Standards

To be eligible to join the team at Regis we require the following:

Valid National Police Check (Full disclosure or standard disclosure
Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia
Consistent with State and Territory public health orders and with Regis’ mandatory vaccination policy, all candidates must produce evidence that they have received the current (i.e. 2021) seasonal influenza vaccination or medical evidence to Regis’ satisfaction of an accepted clinical contraindication to receiving the influenza vaccination
