As a Cadet Designer, you will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment that provides road design support to the transport infrastructure area in the District.
Accountabilities include:
Under supervision
Assist in the development and costing of transport infrastructure design models in the concept, development and delivery phases of transport infrastructure projects.
Develop capability in the use of specialist Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) software applications such as 12d and AutoCAD.
Develop an awareness of relevant planning and design principles, policies, standards, and guidelines to be applied when developing project models.
Under supervision, undertake various planning and design activities for road projects to ensure successful completion within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
Assist in the management of planning and design projects using project management principles by monitoring and reporting to the team leader/supervisor on the status of assigned project activities.
Attend all required classes (including lectures, tutorials and practicals) and pass and successfully complete all examinations and assessments required to obtain your qualification, as described under 'mandatory requirements'.
Mandatory requirements:
Studying or eligible for enrolment in an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification, accredited under the Dublin Accord.
Desirable requirements:
Valid Queensland ‘C' class drivers licence is equivalent
Positions are available in Maroochydore and Barcaldine.
