We support the LPG/LNG, Fertilisers and Chemical plants at our Kwinana operations (production of gas, solid and liquid products) and seek to maintain a centre of technical excellence through the professional development of our people.

About the role

An opportunity exists for an experienced engineer with a mechanical / metallurgical background to join the WesCEF Technical Services team.

Reporting to the Asset Integrity Manager, you will be dedicated to the Kleenheat Maintenance team who are responsible for the maintenance fixed and mobile LPG and LNG assets such as storage tanks and transport trailers throughout WA and NT.

You will be responsible for providing inspection, materials systems, and specialist maintenance support to address asset integrity problems and optimize the operation and reliability of fixed and mobile assets.

This is an outstanding opportunity to gain broad exposure in diverse operations while seeing the impact of your recommendations in sound decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing technical guidance in the review of maintenance requirements (corrective and preventive) based on specifications, performance, reliability theory, regulations, and standards.
Analysing performance, maintenance, and failure history to determine actions and improvements.
Developing, maintaining and implementing procedures and work instructions derived from mechanical and automotive standards throughout the business.
Undertaking reviews and implementing maintenance and/or improvement solutions for equipment performance and bottlenecks.
Assisting in identifying root cause of equipment failures and subsequent elimination of these failure modes.
Management of contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and procedural requirements.
Demonstrating commitment to HSE and contributing to a positive culture that responds proactively to safety and environmental issues.
Managing small projects assisting the Maintenance and operating teams, on requirement.

About you

You possess tertiary qualifications as a Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineer, having had responsibility for static equipment inspection and NDT  in brownfields operational environments similar to ours or significant experience working with heavy vehicle trailing assets operated in the transport Industry.

In addition you possess:

Strong knowledge on Maintenance and Reliability Management Theory and practice.
Previous experience in maintenance of pressure equipment and relief devices.
Knowledge of, and experienced in the use of AS, ASME, API, and ISO codes and standards. Knowledge of ADG (Australian Design Guidelines) will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with standards relating to pressure equipment, heavy road vehicles, dangerous goods' transport, Western Australian Road Traffic (Vehicle) Regulations, Storage and Handling of LPG / LNG and the OHS legislation.
A working knowledge of compliance notices, exemptions, permits and notices for heavy restricted access vehicles, mass and loading, load restraint, vehicle modifications and vehicle maintenance.
Able to demonstrate technical knowledge as a subject matter expert and mentor junior engineer and project team members.
Confidence and experience working closely with operations.
